Billionaire Elon Musk has clarified his reasons for visiting Wisconsin two days ahead of its hotly contested Supreme Court election. Musk on Friday deleted a social media post saying he planned to “personally hand over” $2 million to a pair of voters who have already cast their ballots in the race. Musk clarified the money will go to people who will be “spokesmen” for an online petition against “activist” judges. A Wisconsin law prohibits giving anything of value in exchange for a vote. The Supreme Court election on Tuesday will determine ideological control of the court. It is the most expensive court race in U.S. history.

Wisconsin's governor has vetoed a Republican-authored bill that would revive old standards for student test scores and report cards. Her opponents argue the changes lower the bar for student performance and muddy school district performances. The Senate passed the bill earlier this month. The Assembly passed the bill in February. Online legislative records indicate that Gov. Tony Evers vetoed the bill Friday morning.
